Hello and a very warm welcome to “My Favourite Things”.

I am based in Mumbai where I spend my days at my full-time job, my evenings devoted to books and music, and my nights dreaming about faraway places to travel to. In between all this, I find time to pursue all my interests and blog about them.

I am an avid traveller, a book nerd, an editor, an amateur photographer, aΒ Classical music (Indian, Western and Arabic) lover, a mythology enthusiast, former founder of #TSBC (or The Sunday Book Club)… I am all that, this and more ! I did say I have varied interests, didn’t I?

When I began blogging here in June 2010, it was with the intention of only writing about my travel experiences. Soon, I found myself writing about books, music, photography, museums, and my city, Mumbai. About 2-3 years ago, I started writing about art, and occasionally food and product reviews and experiences. In other words, this blog reflects my many interests in history, culture and heritage, much like my varied educational background in Geology, Public Relations and now, Indian Art and Aesthetics.

This blog completed eight years on 2nd June 2018 and it has been a heady journey of introspection, self-discovery and growth as an individual. The posts I wrote after crossing each annual milestone will tell you more about that journey.

Blogging has also brought in accolades, mentions and some recognition too β€” particularly in the area of travel blogging. It also brought me the opportunity to write for or have my my blog posts featured in newspapers, magazines and websites that I have a lot of regard for. Most of my writing, features and mentions are listed in the Publications page.

I love feedback. One of the things that has kept me going is the constructive/unreserved feedback I have received from my readers. I credit this feedback with how the blog has grown and shaped up over the years. So please, do not be shy to give your feedback or suggestions. You can comment here or get in touch with me via the Contact Page. It’s absolutely free. πŸ™‚

  1. Hi! Sudha jee,
I have once to Mumbai, and really like the place. Truly there are many things to be done there. Sacred Association is coming to Mumbai with Tattva Shakti Vigyaan program in Andheri. It will be a wonderful experience for you. You can write a mail to info@sacredassociation.org to know more about it.

  2. Hi Sudha, Has someone told you, one of the best things about your blog is the ever changing face of the header banner? πŸ™‚ I visited after a long time and while the posts are as interesting as ever, wanted to especially tell you about the photographs you keep replacing on the banner and which I always look forward to. They are all beautiful and afford a refreshing newness with each visit. Keep doing this thing you do. πŸ™‚
