Hello and a very warm welcome to “My Favourite Things”.
I am based in Mumbai where I spend my days at my full-time job, my evenings devoted to books and music, and my nights dreaming about faraway places to travel to. In between all this, I find time to pursue all my interests and blog about them.
I am an avid traveller, one of the founders of #TSBC (or The Sunday Book Club), a book nerd, an editor, an amateur photographer, a Classical music (Indian, Western and Arabic) lover, a mythology enthusiast… I am all that, this and more ! I did say I have varied interests, didn’t I?
When I began blogging here in June 2010, it was with the intention of only writing about my travel experiences. Soon, I found myself writing about books, music, photography, museums, and Mumbai. About two years art, I started writing about art, and occasionally food and product reviews and experiences. In other words, this blog reflects my many interests in history, culture and heritage, much like my varied educational background in Geology, Public Relations and now, Indian Aesthetics.
This blog completed eight years on 2nd June 2018 and it has been a heady journey of self-discovery and growth as an individual. The posts I wrote after crossing each annual milestones will tell you more about that journey. The 8 years of blogging have also brought in some accolades, mentions and recognition along the way, particularly in travel blogging. I have also written for newspapers, magazines and websites or have had some of my blog posts picked up for publication elsewhere. You can find all of that listed in the Publications page.
I love feedback. That is what keeps me going, so please, please, please don’t feel shy to comment here or get in touch with me via the Contact Page. It’s absolutely free. 🙂
